Engaging Stakeholders

Joy has been working with Bruce Turner (Phoenix Facilitation) and Melbourne Water to facilitate a series of  ‘Making Connections’ workshops with community stakeholders.  Workshops were designed to provide multiple opportunities for participants to build relationships & connections that translated into actions, beyond the workshop. Community Visioning
Frankston Council Community Vision – Frankston 2025.

Our facilitation of this project commenced with a ‘Future Search’ conference and involvement from more than 100 local participants. In addition, we facilitated specific workshops for the traditionally harder to reach groups such as youth, aged and people with disability. We conducted online surveys, street talk and park based barbecues.  This was an exciting project! Have a look at the Frankston Council website for more information. Other community vision projects include Coffs Harbour Council (Coffs Harbour 2030) and the City of Brimbank community plan development. We work with a range of local councils and assist them to consult the community and integrate community expectations into their planning.

Managing Change and Strategic planning

Sharing our History

We work with 
Boards and Committees of Management to facilitate strategic planning and strong working relationships, and 
community organisations, local government, hospitals, and aged care to support and enhance the management of change projects.  
We assist with goal setting, prioritising activities and identification of obstacles and challenges so that change can involve all stakeholders in a consultative and participatory manner.

Reflective practice groups
This is a method that really changes the ‘way we do things around here’. Working in small groups managers meet regularly to reflect on their management challenges whilst utilising their peers and the facilitator to challenge ways of thinking. The participants develop interpersonal skills, increase their emotional resilience and hardiness in the management role and identify organisational opportunities for improved service delivery.

Team development – a group dynamics approach

Stories for understanding

Individuals and teams are coached in style, approach, self-analysis, personality type (MBTI) and leadership development. We create new ways of working with specific groups to improve overall team performance. The teams are encouraged to work with reflection, personality styles and relationships using interventions such as role analysis, systems review, and creative thinking activities.

Facilitation of dialogic circles
Dialogue is created as people talk and listen together, telling their stories as they bring to the group experiences of their role, the impact of their work, and the assumptions they create as they work in their team. Dialogic circles improve understanding between individuals and allow safe discussion of differences and “undiscussables”. The group’s capacity to work together is improved as differences and conflicts are ‘unpacked’ and tolerance is developed.
