Who we are

The Humphreys Group collaborates with selected practitioners (our joyful collaborators) who have complementary skills and expertise. Together we create and provide specialised programs to coach individuals and facilitate groups.

Using our experience, and training in systems thinking and psychodynamics, we design processes to enable individuals and groups make sense of their experience and work effectively together.

Dr. Joy Humphreys is founder and leader of The Humphreys Group. After many years working as a nurse and midwife and facilitating major change projects Joy became curious about stakeholder engagement especially the dynamics related to inclusion, exclusion, resistance, and collaboration. This led to psychoanalytic studies in leadership and organisation dynamics and diverse experiences of group relations workshops in Australia, London, Peru and the USA.

Joy is passionate about working with reflective groups and is accredited as a Balint leader by the Balint Society of Australia and New Zealand.

The Humphreys Group works with organisations, Boards and groups experiencing change, designing and facilitating group workshops, and we provide coaching to Managers, executive teams, clinicians and individuals.  We also provide one on one executive role coaching using a systems and psychodynamic approach.

Joy is a volunteer Board Member of Otway Health, and is a member of Balint Society of Australia and New Zealand, ISPSO, LeadR and the AFN.
